Youth AmBASAdor for National Book Week 2026

Young literacy advocate to strengthen storytelling skills at October 14–15 workshop

Jade has been selected to attend the National Book Week  Youth AmBASAdor workshop for storytelling, an opportunity that recognizes her potential to encourage young people to discover the joy, imagination, and confidence that grow through reading and storytelling.

As part of her preparation, Jade will attend a storytelling workshop on October 14–15, 2026. The two-day learning experience will help her develop expressive delivery, audience engagement, story interpretation, and other techniques she can use in promoting books and literacy among fellow young readers.
Jade brings to the role a distinctive storytelling background as the young animator behind Wetsipon Workshop. Through its Wetsitales animated shorts, she helps retell Philippine folk tales from different regions, combining research, illustration, animation, voice, sound, music, and editing to preserve and share folk culture with a new generation.

National Book Week is observed throughout the Philippines to promote reading and library services. Its long history includes programs such as contests, book exhibitions, and library visits designed to deepen public engagement with books and learning. The observance has become a nationwide platform for celebrating reading and the role of libraries in community life.
Jade’s selection highlights the important role young advocates can play in building a culture of reading. Through her participation, she hopes to connect with other young readers, share meaningful stories, and show how books can open doors to creativity, empathy, and lifelong learning.
