When photo booths meant FotoMes

My J have this selfie phase of her life.  Some kids like to see themselves in the mirror, unfortunately most of our mirrors are high and uncomfortable for her to do her facial experimentation comfortably so her phone or tablets’ camera would be her pseudo mirror.    Every so often that i archive and clean up my memory there would be some small heartbreaks for me chasing to delete which photos to keep.  There are just too many of them.

Her favorite app would be the Photo Booth and CamWow both iOS because of the presets or filters she often play with along with playing with her face.

And then she snaps a photo of me with this...

This reminds me of circa 1990’s where achieving the Warhol like effects would need a town to achieve!  In those day and age of color separations that would need days to develop, a print ad was done with a whole lot of departments and a whole lot of job functions plus a whole lot of suppliers that are now obsolete.  I started as AE for a big Agency,  a local counterpart of BBDO, imagine then there was such a thing as typesetters! we had department secretaries who’s function were to type our handwritten minutes to format print and send the agreements via fax and messengers.  Print ads were a community effort,  filters like that would need pre prod from the print prod and color separation department as well as the printers.  I remember even going to the Philippine Daily Inquirer at least 2 times to test if the CMYK blend that the separators did would work,  there were a lot of samples that look more for zombies and thermal cameras that would not be acceptable for a cosmetic/ personal care product.  Ahh PREDENT it was.  A Listerine me-too product from the makers of Astring-O-Sol.  The product was eventually shelved to make way for AOS RTU variants that still is here today.  I miss the big agency days,  those days that look and feel Mad Men,  but then again i was just telling my business partner yesterday that i am glad i do not have to wear heels by necessity anymore.  That when i went to the Clients office in a t-shirt,  jeans and boots i do not feel inadequately dressed.  Oh well,  That was still a nice throwback moment,  even if it’s just Tuesday :)
